Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1988), a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1991), a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1997) / University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) between 08/1994 and 09/1996. He has a postdoctoral degree from the Technische Universitat Wien (Vienna, Austria). . Senior internship at ONERA (Le center français de recherche aérospatiale), working on the development of niobium alloys for aeronautical turbines. Experience in the area of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Phase Transformation, working mainly on the following topics: phase diagram, intermetallics, refractory metal alloys (Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Re), solidification, superalloys.
