Academic background

Bachelor in Chemical Engineering (1986), Master in Materials Engineering (1991) and PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (1996). Habilitation (tenure) in 2008 in the specialty “Metallic Materials” by the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo. Since 2017, he has been Full Professor of Materials Engineering at the Lorena School of Engineering (EEL-USP) and ad hoc advisor of FAPESP, CAPES, CNPq and FAPEMIG. He works in Materials Science and Engineering with emphasis in Physical Metallurgy and Processing in the following subjects: plastic deformation, recovery, recrystallization, grain growth, crystallographic texture, EBSD, primary processing of niobium and refractory metals, powder metallurgy and superconductivity in niobium and its compounds.
