Academic background

Full Professor at the University of São Paulo (USP). He holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (1988), a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1991), a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP, 1997) / University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA) between 08/1994 and 09/1996. He has a postdoctoral degree from the Technische Universitat Wien (Vienna, Austria). . Senior internship at ONERA (Le center français de recherche aérospatiale), working on the development of niobium alloys for aeronautical turbines. Experience in the area of ​​Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, with emphasis on Phase Transformation, working mainly on the following topics: phase diagram, intermetallics, refractory metal alloys (Nb, Ta, Mo, W, Re), solidification, superalloys.
